hi all
I did a couple of school plays when I was a kid which despite the long hours of practise I enjoyed, when I moved to high school I wanted to take drama as one of my classes unfortunately the class was cancelled due to insufficient interest so I never got the chance, however I have recently been looking into the viability of taking up drama as a career and right now I'm in the process of doing my home work on the subject.
Now when I spoke to the folks in careers about this it was suggested to me that before committing to a course it would be a good idea to seek out some of the local amateur groups and actually get some experience, as even basic entry level courses require you to have standard grade in drama or at lease some experience in drama.
it would also be a good way for me to find out if this might be something I'd be good at and might enjoy and want to pursue further.
unfortunately at the present time I posses nether experience nor qualification which is what brings me here ICE was a name given to me by careers and I though that this might be a good place to start, now I tried checking out the web site but it seems to be pretty much none existent at the moment only listing a phone number which is why I'm posting here instead to try and get a little info.
for example on the web site such as it is it says interested party's should come down to the Tolbooth, however I have no idea what or where that is and as there is no address listed it make it almost impossible to look it up. |

Hi there,
I'm glad you are so interested in our group and were given information by a careers advisor about us, that's really good to hear.
I take it that since a careers advisor gave you our name, you are local to the Lanark area?
A little more about us... I.C.E. stands for Independent Community Entertainment. We usually put on shows twice a year, in late April and in August. With the april show being our fundraiser and the august show a full production.
Our membership ranges from first year in secondary school to young people in their late 20's.
The tolbooth is a historic building in the town of Lanark, which is rented to us, as well as other groups as a rehearsal space.
If you need any more information, please do not hesitate to contact me via personal message on this forum or on paigehughes@rocketmail.com

It's at the bottom of the high street, to the left, before you get to the church if you're walking down the way.
Hope to see you there.
The next full rehearsal will be the 9th of March at 7pm, so come along
